Two Conservative led Kent councils have won prestigious Gold awards. Each year iese, which specialises in public sector transformation makes awards for the best projects in local government. Their most recent Public Sector Transformation Awards took place on 06 March in London. Two district councils from Kent won the top prize in their categories. Shepway District Council won first prize for ‘Transforming Through Technology’ and Sevenoaks District Council won ‘Transformation in Health and Social Care’. Winning two out of ten national awards is quite something for Kent but more significantly the two projects have improved services for Kent residents and show how even when money is tight public services can be transformed and improved.
