Paulina was born, educated and lived in Kent all her life. She attended Thanet School of Art and graduated from Canterbury College of Art, Kent University and Christchurch University College. She and her family have lived in rural Maidstone weald for over 40 years where she worked as a secondary school teacher.

She has been a local school Governor for more than twenty years. As a borough councillor for nearly 27 years she has tried to ensure that Maidstone remains an economically vibrant and attractive County Town of Kent. It is surrounded by a wealth of historic villages and wonderful countryside, which she is committed to protecting for future generations. She was elected the Mayor of Maidstone in 2001.

Paulina has represented Maidstone Rural West at Kent County Council for over 12 years and during that time has seen KCC become one of the top performing county councils in the country. She has been the Lead Member and deputy to two cabinet members and chairman of a number of committees, including the Maidstone Local Board chairing public meetings on a number of issues of concern.

She has assisted numerous parents with education appeals for school places and transport and has supported numerous community grants to assist groups and parish projects across her 11 parishes. "It has been a pleasure and privilege to represent the residents of Maidstone Rural West division for the past twelve years at KCC. I have worked hard with the parish councils to help protect and enhance the rural environment that we all live in."
