Candidate in thanet for Birchington & Rural.
My name is Emma Dawson and I am very pleased to announce that I am standing as your Conservative candidate for the Kent County Council elections in May 2017 for Birchington and Rural division. I have lived locally in Thanet since I was 8 years old and am very aware of the passion that the people have in Thanet and how important it is to have a strong voice to represent them.
My early career was spent with social health care, NHS and Residential care and this is a key issue in Thanet for our people dependent upon support and I will use this experience to promote a better, more comprehensive service fit for purpose from within Kent.
There are certain issues but also opportunities that I know will be important to you including: policing, traffic congestion, our local schools, bus services and fly tipping, these will be part of my driving force on your behalf
Kent County is one of the largest in the country with many issues which affect Thanet both politically and financially. I am conscious that the skills I have acquired with my Politics degree in 2005 and 10 years as a Director working in a Company requiring sound financial judgement will enable me to represent not only the people and their lifestyle choices but also to assist in guiding Kent County to make the right decisions including the retention of Manston airport.
In 2015 I was elected as a Thanet District Councillor for the Cliftonville West Ward enabling me to fully serve the interests of the people I represent and work with their aspirations on local issues, community projects, and charity events. In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit, eating healthily and staying positive.
