There’s been a big numbers boost for the net-zero carbon emissions plan for all the land and buildings owned by Kent County Council by 2030. It has won a grant of £21 million from the government for several energy-saving projects including two new solar parks, solar panels on KCC buildings, more money for heat pumps for Maidstone Heat Network, and switching more lights to LED.
Together, these will remove 7,097 tonnes of CO2 from KCC’s estate cutting emissions by 40%. They fell by 50% between 2010 and 2020. https://bit.ly/3rtNfOZ
